Building Raise Me: Designing a New Logo for Raise Me
We’re excited to launch the new Building Raise Me series! Learn about how we build the product that serves millions of students to and through college.
In our inaugural post, we follow Rachel Schmitz, a Senior Product Designer at Raise Me, who took on the challenge to completely redesign the Raise Me logo less than 6 months after joining the team. She had under two months to research, ideate, and achieve consensus from senior leadership in order to launch the logo at our most important annual conference.

Through a series of surveys, interviews, sketches, meetings and iteration, she developed a logo that not only speaks to our company mission and personality, but one that holds true as Raise Me evolves.
Welcome to ‘Building Raise Me,’ the Raise Me Design & Engineering blog! We’re starting to tell the stories behind the decisions that go into making the Raise Me product, features, and community. Here we’ll discuss technologies we use, challenges we face, the research we’re doing and how our ideas go from sketch to implementation.
