This scholarship program provides financial support to service men and women who have been awarded the Purple Heard and are college-bound. Eligibility:-Be a high school graduate or have successfully completed a GED program-Be accepted by or enrolled as a full time undergraduate student at an accredited college, university, or trade school at the time the scholarship is awarded-Be able to demonstrate the capacity for advanced academic achievement or technical proficiency as demonstrated by maintaining at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA-Have been awarded the Purple Heart and be a member of the armed forces in good standing or who have separated from service honorablyStudents are required to submit a brief autobiography and write a 1,200 to 1,500 word essay that answers the following questions:1. How has your military experience impacted your life?2. What are your goals and intentions are towards the advancement or of understanding of service to your community and what are you ultimate goals in this area?
