The Officer Chad Spicer Heroes Scholarship

The Officer Chad Spicer Heroes Scholarship was created in memory of Georgetown, DE police officer Chad Spicer, killed in the line of duty on September 1, 2009. To honor Officer Spicer and his commitment to the community, the Heroes Scholarship seeks to bring awareness to other heroes in our own hometowns. The scholarship is open to high school seniors from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, having at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) or equivalent, and who are pursuing an education, majoring in Criminal Justice. The award must then be applied to full-time schooling, with a declared major in Criminal Justice, starting in the Fall of that same calendar year. Winners will be notified by mail, and have their names, high school name, and essay posted on the Foundation’s Internet website in July of that same year.
