The Millie Brothers CODA International Scholarship

The Millie Brother Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded to hearing children of deaf adults to help them pursue an education. The scholarship can be used for undergraduate or graduate study. These are one-time scholarships, but you may apply for as many years as you are in school. First-time winners will receive preference. Applicants may compete for both scholarships, but a separate essay is required for each submission. Applicants must be the hearing son or daughter of one or two deaf parent(s). Eligibility:-Applicant must be a high school graduate-Applicant must be the hearing son or daughter of deaf parents-Each applicant must submit an official transcript from their high school, two (2) letters of recommendation and a typed two-page essay-Essays must be submitted describing the applicant's CODA experience and how it has shaped the CODA as an individual; the essay should include a description of future career aspirations and each essay will be judged on organization, content, creativity, and a sense of purpose-Applicants may compete for both scholarships but a separate essay is required for each submissionAll application packages must be completed and postmarked by the first Friday in April.
