The Fred W. Rissing and Florence J. Rissing Scholarship

Established by siblings Fred W. and Florence J. Rissing, this fund assists students who plan to prepare for professional leadership in the Lutheran church, and may be awarded to students who express interest in ministry in any of its forms. Rissing Scholarships are renewable annually, subject to maintenance of a grade-point average of 2.5 or above and evidence of continuing commitment to professional leadership in the Lutheran church. Selection Criteria:-Applicant must have an interest in professional leadership in the church, in ministry, music ministry, outdoor ministry, religious education, theology, social ministry, missionary service or other church-related vocation -The applicant must be a member in good standing of a Lutheran congregation -The applicant must demonstrate a proven academic record -Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need
