Reverend William D. Aldridge, Sr., Scholarship
The Reverend William Desmond Aldridge, the second oldest of five children, was born May 1, 1927, in Europa, Mississippi. The Reverend Aldridge was called to the ministry in 1944 at the age of 17. He completed three years of study at Rusk College before accepting his first pastorship in 1948. The Reverend Aldridge was named pastor of Christ Community Church on Easter Sunday in 1954, making him one of the longest-serving pastors in Saginaw County.
