Reading Community Singers is a community chorus dedicated to sharing the love of music with people of all ages. As part of this commitment we support the advancement of music education by providing a scholarship to a student pursuing a career in music.
Scholarship details and requirements:â¢ The one-time award is for $1,000.â¢ The application process is open to any graduating high school senior or full time undergraduate student pursuing a major or minor in music.â¢ Applicants must reside in Reading or a town in the surrounding area.â¢ The application must be postmarked no later than December 3rd.â¢ Finalists will be notified by December 17th. â¢ Finalists will perform a 10-15 minute audition on February 12th.â¢ The winner of the RCS scholarship MUST perform at the RCS Spring Concert on May 6th, and at the dress rehearsal on May 5th, in order to receive the scholarship.
