McLennan Community College Scholarship Foundation

Through the gracious gifts of our many friends, the McLennan Community College Foundation is able to award over 300 scholarships each year. Scholarships are funded from permanent endowment funds (endowed scholarships) or through annual contributions (unendowed scholarships). While each scholarship has its own eligibility requirements, the general scholarship requirements are:-Demonstrate scholastic ability-Enroll as a full-time student (normally 12 hours or 9 hours for those in nursing programs)-Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA (3.0 for some scholarships) while attending McLennanThe following scholarships require a separate application:-Presidential Scholars-Honors College-First Generation Scholars-McLennan ScholarsBecause many Foundation scholarships are based on need, if you receive a scholarship through the Presidential, Honors College or McLennan Scholar (top 10 percent), other Foundation Scholarships will generally not be available to you. If a Foundation Scholarship has been accepted and you are then chosen as a Presidential, Honors College or McLennan Scholar, the other Foundation scholarship will be removed and credited to another deserving student who did not previously receive a scholarship. Individual scholarship amounts generally range from $250-$1,000.Students are required to write thank you notes to the donors (note cards are provided with the award letters) and are also expected to attend the Scholarship Award Recognition Event on Sept. 8.
