Louisville Branch NAACP Scholarship Awards Program
The mission of the NAACP is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights for all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.
Eligibility:-Graduating high school seniors and undergraduate college students must possess a 2.5 GPA or above -Graduate students must possess a 3.0 GPA or above -Must be a legal resident of Metro Louisville -Must be a U.S. citizen-Provide evidence of full-time enrollment or acceptance for admission at a fully-accredited institution-High school seniors must submit a hard-copy of their official ACT or SAT scores-Demonstrate financial need by completing the application and submitting a copy of your (or parents' if you are still considered a dependent on your parents' income tax form) Federal IRS Form 1040. Students who exceed the income limitations may apply and compete for any available remaining funds (submission by U.S. postal service only accepted)-Submit an essay, 600 words or less typed and double-spaced in a 10 to 12 point type font with 1-inch margins-Provide three (3) letters of recommendation on official school letterhead. At least two (2) of the three letters should come from two (2) educators (one counselor and one teacher) providing the recommender's full name, contact information and relationship to the applicant-Provide a non-returnable photograph (no larger in size than 2 Â½ x 3 Â½ inches), with the applicant's name on the back for use in NAACP publications-If the applicant is awarded, he/she must attend the annual scholarship awards reception unless excused by the scholarship committee chairFor more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
