In 2007, family and friends established a memorial scholarship in honor of Jeff Sein Kwan Yang. The scholarship aims to provide financial support to students who are immigrants or children of immigrants in their pursuit of higher education. It is open to students of all ethnic backgrounds who reside in the San Gabriel Valley.
Eligibility:-Graduating senior from a San Gabriel Valley high school-An immigrant or child of an immigrant-Committed to serving the immigrant community in some aspectIt is open to students of all ethnic backgrounds. Students from low-income or working class families are especially encouraged to apply. An essay that is no more than 750 words explaining why you are deserving of the scholarship, specifically addressing one or more of the following subject matters:-Any exceptional hardship you faced-Your educational goals and objectives-Ways you will give back to the immigrant community in the future-The source of your motivation to succeedFor more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
