FSCNY Scholarship

Financial Service Centers of New York (FSCNY) in conjunction with MoneyGram International is pleased to announce its 2016 Scholarship Program: "Rewarding Young Leaders in Our Community". Since 1996, the Program has awarded nearly $700,000 in scholarships to 300 students. In 2015, we will again be awarding cash grants to outstanding public high school seniors from New York City’s five boroughs and the surrounding New York counties. Through the Scholarship Program, FSCNY and MoneyGram International seek to provide development opportunities for young people who will return to their communities and contribute to improving the quality of life for all New Yorkers. Students will be selected based upon leadership skills at their school and in the community, as well as academic achievement. Eligibility:-Academic achievement/improvement-Demonstrated leadership in their school-Demonstrated involvement in their community, contributing at least 50 valuable hours of volunteer service each year of high schoolIn 250 words or less, students should explain their most rewarding experience through their community service involvement.One (1) grand-prize winner will be selected to receive a one-time award of at least $7,500 towards the cost of their freshman year of study at an accredited two or four-year college or university. At least three (3) first place award winners also will be selected to receive a minimum cash award of $4,000. Additionally, at least three (3) second place award winners will be selected to receive a minimum of $2,000.
