Doug Parker Memorial Scholarship
The Doug Parker Memorial Scholarship was established in 2009 to support the financial needs of young adults in Howard County, Maryland who have been affected by cancer, and are seeking higher education. This award was established by the Parker family to continue Doug's legacy and to honor the spirit of entrepreneurship, energy and determination that Doug Parker displayed during his life.
Applicants must have been between the ages of 15 and 39 during their own diagnosis/treatment or during the diagnosis/treatment of their parent or sibling.Scholarship winners will be awarded a total of $2,500 over two academic semesters. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the scholarship recipientâs school. Each scholarship winner is obligated to organize and run a bone marrow registry drive with the support of Delete Blood Cancer and There Goes My Hero.For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
