Beating Heart Disease Scholarship
Although heart disease is not prevalent in the college-aged demographic, it can present if the ailment is congenital or hereditary and will require various treatments and affect the studentâs energy, stamina, and concentration. More often than not, the student serves as the caregiver to a parent or grandparent with heart disease making securing an education especially stressful due to the addition of course deliverables and exams. College is meant to be challenging, but most students do not have to factor in heart disease treatment or new diet and exercise regimes, or caring for a loved one, on top of their studies.
Eligibility:-You are either accepted to or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university within the United States-You have a minimum 2.8 GPA-You must submit an unofficial copy of your transcript, your completed application, and your essayPlease choose one of the questions and write an essay of 500-1,000 words:-How has heart disease changed your view of your purpose in life?-Witnessing a loved one face heart disease can be difficult. Describe the challenges you've faced in supporting or caring for a loved one, and how you dealt with these challenges-Did your heart disease diagnosis change the way friends or family members treated you?
