Association for Women in Mathematics Essay Contest
To increase the awareness of women's ongoing contributions to mathematics, the Association of Women in Mathematics and Math for America are co-sponsoring an essay contest for biographies of contemporary women mathematicians and statisticians in industrial, government, and academic careers.
Eligibility:-The contest is open to students grades 6-8; grades 9-12; and college undergraduates. At least one winning submission will be chosen from each category-Both female and male students can apply - the only gender restriction is that the person interviewed must be a womanEssay requirements:-Must be 500-1,000 words in length-The essay should be based primarily on an interview with a woman currently working in a mathematical career.
