Anne Smedinghoff Memorial Scholarship

The Anne Smedinghoff Memorial Scholarship was established in 2013 to honor 4K for Cancer 2010 Alum, Anne Smedinghoff. Anne was killed in Afghanistan in April 2013 while working as a State Department diplomat. An active member of the 2000 4K for Cancer San Francisco team, Anne embodied the spirit of the 4K - adventurous, upbeat, vivacious, and with the strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others. This scholarship is awarded to a young adult survivor, a young adult in active treatment, or a young adult affected by cancer through the diagnosis of a parent or sibling that exemplifies Anne's qualities. It is awarded by Ulman Cancer Fund's 4K for Cancer Team San Francisco during their summer cross-country journey. Applicants must have been between the ages of 15 and 39 during their own diagnosis/treatment or during the diagnosis/treatment of their parent or sibling. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
